With modern life a veritable marathon of sitting, the muscles that support and surround our lower back can become shortened and begin to feel achey, or easily be strained by vigorous movement. On the other hand, back pain can also be experienced by athletes or very active folks who do lots of high-impact activity, without adequately stretching and supporting their lower back post-exercise. Suffice to say that wherever you fall on the spectrum of daily activity, back pain is something you’re likely to want to remedy at some stage in your life.
